Welcome to Ridley’s Mowing and Gardening. These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of all property maintenance, lawn mowing, gardening, pressure washing, and green waste removal services provided by us to you, the client. By requesting a quote, booking a service, or engaging us for an ongoing maintenance contract, you agree to be bound by these terms.
We operate across Maitland, Thornton, Kurri Kurri, Hexham, and the surrounding Hunter Valley region. Our goal is to provide a highly reliable, commercial-grade service. These guidelines exist to establish clear communication, safe working environments, and straightforward business practices for both our residential and commercial clients.
Quoting, Estimates, and Pricing
All quotes provided by Ridley’s Mowing and Gardening are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
Site Assessments: For commercial sites, strata complexes, and large acreage, we conduct an on-site assessment to provide a fixed, written quote that outlines the exact scope of work.
Sight-Unseen Estimates: For standard residential properties, we may provide an estimate over the phone or via email based on the details you provide. If our team arrives on-site and finds the property is significantly larger, heavily overgrown, or contains hazards not previously disclosed, we reserve the right to amend the price. We will always discuss this with you and get your approval before starting any work.
Pricing Variations: For ongoing maintenance contracts, we review our pricing annually to account for inflation, rising fuel costs, and waste disposal fee increases. We will provide all commercial and strata clients with a minimum of 30 days' written notice before any price adjustments take effect.
Scheduling and Weather Delays
We pride ourselves on absolute reliability. However, outdoor property maintenance is heavily dependent on weather conditions.
Rain and Extreme Heat: In the event of heavy rain, waterlogged soil, or extreme heatwaves, it may be unsafe for our operators to work or damaging to your lawns to run heavy machinery over them. If weather prevents us from servicing your property on the scheduled day, we will notify you immediately. We will reschedule your service to the next available dry day.
Public Holidays: If your scheduled maintenance falls on a New South Wales public holiday, we will complete the service on either the preceding or following business day.
Property Access and Site Conditions
To provide our services efficiently, we require safe, unobstructed access to the areas of your property that require maintenance.
Access: Clients must make sure side gates are unlocked, vehicles are moved off the lawns or driveways where work is required, and any security codes are provided in advance. If we cannot access the property upon arrival, we may apply a call-out fee.
Site Clearances: The lawns and garden beds must be free of heavy debris, children’s toys, garden hoses, building materials, and animal waste before our team arrives. Running commercial mowers over hidden objects can cause severe damage to our machinery and turn debris into dangerous projectiles. We reserve the right to refuse service or charge an additional clearing fee if the site is not ready for maintenance.
Pets and Animals
We respect your pets and are highly experienced in working around them. However, for the safety of our team and your animals:
We require all aggressive or highly anxious dogs to be kept indoors or securely restrained while our machinery is operating.
Our team will make every effort to close gates securely when entering and leaving the property. However, the ultimate responsibility for the containment of pets rests with the property owner.
Green Waste Removal
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all grass clippings, hedge trimmings, and green waste generated by our team during the service will be loaded onto our trucks and removed from the site for local recycling. If you prefer us to place the clippings in your own council green bin or an on-site compost pile, you must notify us in advance. We do not remove household rubbish, hard waste, or hazardous materials.
Payment Terms
We believe in clear, straightforward invoicing practices.
Residential Clients: Payment is strictly due upon the completion of the service. We will issue a digital invoice containing a secure payment link, or you may pay via direct bank transfer.
Commercial and Strata Clients: For approved commercial accounts, local councils, and strata managers, we issue professional tax invoices upon completion of the scheduled service. Payment terms are strictly 14 days from the date of the invoice, payable via electronic bank transfer.
Late Payments: Ridley’s Mowing and Gardening reserves the right to suspend all future scheduled services until outstanding accounts are settled in full. We may apply late payment fees or engage a debt collection agency for severely overdue accounts, with all associated recovery costs added to the final bill.
Liability, Insurance, and Damage
We operate with strict Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) compliance and hold full public liability insurance to protect our clients and the general public.
While we take extreme care while operating machinery, accidents occasionally happen. If our team causes damage to your property (for example, a stone breaking a window), we take full responsibility, inform you immediately, and arrange for the repair.
We accept no liability for damage to items hidden in long grass or overgrown weeds, including but not limited to irrigation pipes, sprinkler heads, hidden cables, or garden lighting. It is the client's responsibility to identify and flag these hazards before work begins.
Cancellations and Terminations
One-Off Jobs: If you need to cancel a scheduled one-off clean-up or pressure washing service, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made upon our arrival at the property will incur a call-out fee.
Ongoing Maintenance Contracts: Our commercial and strata maintenance agreements are designed to be long-term partnerships. However, either party may terminate an ongoing maintenance arrangement at any time by providing 14 days' written notice. Any outstanding invoices must be paid in full prior to the termination date.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
